🛸 Daily joke

I tried to date a shapeshifter, but it didn't work out. Every time I thought we were getting serious, they just changed their mind.

📜 Daily poem

The Great Solar Hug

The horizon curves in a golden arc, Warmth turns to fire, then a searing spark. Gravity pulls with a heavy, sweet weight, As the crust melts down to a molten state. One final dance in the furnace light, Before the orbit vanishes from sight.

🔭 Scientist spotlight

Grigori Perelman 1966–present · Mathematics

Grigori Perelman is a Russian mathematician who achieved worldwide fame for solving the Poincaré Conjecture, one of the most difficult problems in topology. He achieved this feat by using the Ricci flow to study the shape of three-dimensional manifolds. Despite the monumental importance of his discovery, Perelman famously declined the Fields Medal and the Millennium Prize, choosing instead to withdraw from the mathematical community.

The Fibonacci Blueprint

Zeckendorf's Theorem states that every positive integer can be uniquely represented as a sum of non-consecutive Fibonacci numbers. This means you can build any number using a special 'code' of Fibonacci values, provided you never use two numbers that appear next to each other in the sequence. It is a fascinating way to see how the golden ratio's sequence can act as a fundamental building block for all integers.
